Pompeii
Time travelling is possible at only a few kilometres of Naples. Once an important commercial port, the ruins of Pompeii are now one of the most visited sites in Italy. Classified in the UNESCO list, they are an archaeological, architectural and historical treasure that witness of the Roman civilisation, featuring temples, buildings and pieces of art just as the Vesuve’s ashes petrified them 2000 years ago. The Vesuve reigns still over the city that has become a cosmopolite modern centre around its Sanctuary of la Madonna del Rosario. Pompeii also represents an excellent point of departure for excursions around the Vesuve National Park, the archaeological sites like Herculanum, and the islands on the Bay of Naples.
