The Vatican and The Imperial Rome: in the morning visit to the Vatican Museums, the largest art collection in Europe, including Roman scultpures and paintings by artists such Raphael, Caravaggio and Botticelli and the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s masterpiece. Then visit to the Saint Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world, the coloumned square, the impressive dome, the baroque decorations and the Pietà by Michelangelo.
After lunch visit to the ancient city: the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill housing the Imperial palace, the Roman Forum, centre of the political life, the triumphal arches and the Capitol, once religious centre of the city. The tour ends in Piazza Venezia dominated by the Vittoriano, the monument to King Vittorio Emanuele II.
