Turin

The fourth largest city of Italy, Turin, has a distinguished past being coveted by many nations until the unification of Italy, when it became the capital of the country. That glorious past is visible today thanks to its elegant squares, baroque buildings, renowned museums like the Egyptian and the cinema museums, ant its historic cafes. Birthplace of Fiat, witness of the city’s industrial peak, and the first Slow Food market, Turin is reputed for its gastronomy, and particularly for its chocolate. Home to the Holy Shroud, it attracts thousands of pilgrims during its rare expositions. With the magnificent alps landscape, it has also become an important nature and sport destination since it hosted the Winter Olympic Games in 2006.
