Vigevano

Located to the West of Pavia, in the heart of Ticino valley, rises Vigevano. Idyllically situated between waterways and artificial canals, it is at the centre of an important agriculture area. But beyond its rice production, Vigevano is popular for its art of shoemaking that has been in Vigevano’s families since the medieval times. It was one of the favourite residences of Milan’s dukes, as it is still visibile in its Renaissance architecture. The Ducal Square, built with contribution of Bramante and Leonardo Da Vinci, is considered one of the most beautiful renaissance squares in Italy.
